PRESIDENT DU PARLEMENT SAHRAOUI ET CHEF DE LA DELEGATION DU FRONT
POLISARIO
Au moment de la clôture de ces deux jours du début du
processus de négociations directes entre le FrontPolisario et le
Royaume du Maroc, je voudrais exprimer au secrétaire
général et à son envoyé personnel les
sincères remerciements duFront Polisario pour leurs efforts qui
ont permis à cet événement de se tenir.
Le Front Polisario a participé de bonne foi et un sens
élevé des responsabilités envers le peuple
sahraoui et tous les peuples de la région en vue de contribuer
au succès de ce premier round.
Ces deux jours ont confirmé que pour parvenir à "une
solution politique, juste et mutuellement acceptable qui assure
l’autodetermination du peuple du sahra occidental", que la
communauté internationale a assignée comme objectif
à ces négociations, il convient de s’armer de
perséverance, de patience et de créativité.
Le Front Polisario ne ménagera aucun effort pour
répondre à l’attente de la communauté
internationale et fera en sorte que ce processus de négociations
aboutisse à faire prévaloir la justice et la
légalité internationale au sahara occidental ainsi que la
fraternité, l’harmonie et le bon voisinage entre les peuples
sahraoui et marocain et tous les peuples du Maghreb.
La proposition du Front Polisario qui est sur la table
procède de la volonté de la direction politique sahraouie
d’inscrire résolument ses efforts dans cette perspective
historique pour transcender les affres de 32 années de conflit.
C’est dans cet esprit que le Front Polisario a participé
à ce round de négociations qui s’achève
aujourd’hui et nous participerons aux négociations futures
prévues pour la deuxième semaine d’août 2007
à Manhasset.
Le Front Polisario formule l’espoir que nos frères
marocains feront l’histoire avec nous en saisissant cette
précieuse occasion qui nous est offerte.
Le Front Polisario formule également le vœu que la
communaute internationale et les Nations unies continueront d’assumer
pleinement leurs responsabilités dans le parachevement de la
décolonisation du Sahara Occidental.

PRESIDENT OF THE SAHARAWI PARLIAMENT, HEAD OF THE DELEGATION
OF THE FRENTE POLISARIO
At the end of two days after the beginning of the process of direct
negotiations between the Frente POLISARIO and the Kingdom of Morocco, I
would like to express to the Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy
the most sincere thanks of the Frente POLISARIO for their efforts that
have allowed this event to take place.
The Frente POLISARIO has participated with good faith and with a high
sense of responsibility towards the Saharawi people and all peoples of
the region with a view to contributing to the success of this first
round.
These two days have confirmed that to achieve “a mutually acceptable
political solution that provides for the self-determination of the
people of Western Sahara”, which the International Community has
established as the objective of the negotiations, there is a need for
perseverance, patience and creativity.
The Frente POLISARIO will spare no effort to respond to the efforts of
the international community and will ensure that this process of
negotiations leads to establishing justice and international legality
in Western Sahara as well as fraternity, harmony and neighborly
relations between the Saharawi and Moroccan peoples and among all
peoples of the Maghreb.
The proposal presented by the Frente POLISARIO, which is on the table
today, emanates from the will of the Saharawi political leadership to
resolutely deploy its efforts in this historical perspective in order
to overcome the throes of 32 years of conflict. It is with this spirit
that the Frente POLISARIO has participated in this round of
negotiations that ends today, and we will participate in future
negotiations that are expected to take place during the second week of
August 2007 in Manhasset.
The Frente POLISARO is hopeful that our Moroccan brothers face up to
history together with us by seizing on this historic window of
opportunity that has opened for us.
The Frente POLISARIO also wishes that the international community and
the United Nations continue to assume fully their responsibilities
regarding the completion of the decolonization process of Western
Sahara.
