Campaments des réfugiés sahraouis, le 21 septembre 2003

Un groupe de jeunes sahraouis des territoires occupés a rejoint récemment les territoires liberés de la République Arabe Sahraouie Démocratique (RASD) et les campements des réfugiés sahraouis. Il s'agit de:

1. Ahmed Saleh Mohamed Salek El Mehdi, étudiant, né le 19.12.81 à El Aaiun.
2. Sanad Sidi Ahmed Hamaida, étudiant, né en 1979.
3. Ahmed Salem Lebouihi El Hassan, étudiant.
4. Ghailani Fraidess, étudiant.
5. Khatari Lebouihi, étudiant.
6. Ali Sid Brahim Ali Salem, étudiant, né le 11.11.80.
7. Halab Mohamed Hassana, étudiant, né le 08.08.80.
8. Mohamed El Haiba Ahmed Fal Sidati, étudiant, né 06.03.81 à El Aaiun.
9. Sid Ahmed Mohamed Salem, étudiant, né le 16.02.82 à El Aaiun.
10. Mohamed Mahjoub Mouloud, étudiant, né le 23.03.83.
11. Laaroussi Abdellah Lefdail, étudiant, né 12.03.1978.

Ces jeunes gens se sont vus contraints de fuir leur pays à cause de la répression dont ils ont été l'objet suite à leur participation à diverses manifestations pacifiques pour le respect des droits de l'homme au Sahara Occidental. En effet, dans les territoires occupés de ce territoire non autonome, la population sahraouie tout entière et plus particulièrement les jeunes subissent quotidiennement toute sorte d'agissements répressifs. Ainsi, les intimidations, les harcelements, les déportations, les détentions arbitraires et les jugements inéquitable conjugués aux multiples privations dans les domaines sociaux, culturels et économiques, érigés en système d'oppression, sont autant de facteurs déstabilisateurs qui conduisent la jeunnesse sahraouie au bout du déspoir.

Par ces agissements inhumains et dégradants, par cette répression qui ne veut pas dire son nom, le Royaume du Maroc se rend responsable des flagrantes violations du Droit International des Droits de l'Homme et du Droit International Humanitaire.

L'Association des familles des Prisonniers et Disparus Sahraouis (AFAPREDESA) salue le courage de ces jeunes ont pu traversé le mur de la honte (mur long de 2500 kilomètres construit par les troupes marocaines d'occupation. Il partage le territoire sahraoui en deux zones: l'une sous occupation marocaine et l'autre sous contrôl ede la RASD), ses fils barbelés et ses champs de mines (On estime à près de 5 millions de mines antipersonnels semés partout dans le territoires et particulièrement le long du mur de la honte). L'AFAPREDESA se félicite également de leur résistance pacifique contre l'oppression dont ils ont été 'objet.

L'Organisation sahraouie de défense des droits de l'homme lance un appel pressant aux organisations et personnes éprises de paix et de justice d'intervenir promptement auprès des autorités du Royaume du Maroc pour que cesse immediatement les graves violations commises à l'encontre de la population sahraouie des territoires occupés.

Saharawi Refugee Camps , 21 september 2003

A group of saharawi young people from the occupied territories has recently joined the liberated territories of the Saharawi Arabic Democratic Republic (SADR) and the saharawi refugee camps. They are:

These young people have seen themselves obliged to leave their country due to the repression they have suffered as a result of their participation in several pacific demonstrations for the respect of the human rights in Western Sahara. Indeed, in the occupied territories of this non-autonomous territory, the saharawi population and especially young people suffer everyday all sorts of repressive actions. Thus, intimidation, harassment, deportation, arbitrary arrests, and unfair trials, altogether with multiple deprivations in the area of the social, cultural and economic rights, established in a system of oppression, are destabilising factors that place the saharawi youth on the verge of desperation.

Due to these inhuman and degrading treatments, and to the repression that no one wants to bring to light, the Reign of Morocco becomes responsible for flagrant violations of the International Law of Human Rights and the International Humanitarian Law.

The Association of Families of Saharawi Prisoners and Disappeared (AFAPREDESA) greets the courage of these young people that have managed to cross the wall of shame (wall of 2.500 kilometres built up by Morocco occupying forces. This wall divides the saharawi territory in two areas: one occupied by Morocco and the other under SADR control), its barbed wire and the minefields (it is estimated that there are about 5 million mines widespread through the territory and especially along the wall of shame). AFAPREDESA is content with their pacific resistance to the oppression they have had to face.

The saharawi organisation for the defence of the human rights makes an urgent appeal to the organisations and people who fight for peace and justice to take part as soon as possible before the authorities of the Reign of Morocco in order to demand the immediate cessation of the serious violations commited upon the saharawi population in the occupied territories.
