Dispute about the draft resolution of the Security Council

In a letter sent to the UK Foreign Secretary, Western Sahara Campaign UK expresses its concerns about the new arrangements for the voter identification proposed in the last report of the Secretary General. WSC urges HM Government through its representation at the United Nations not to support the proposed new voter identification procedures.

In a letter to the President of the Security Council, Mr Mohamed Abdelaziz, President of the SADR, stresses the decision of the Polisario Front not to participate in the identification process on the basis of the new procedures foreseen in the Secretary-General's report.

U.S. State Department Undersecretary Robert Pelletreau arrives in Rabat. His 48 hours visit will be devoted to talks with Moroccan responsibles about the situation in the Middle East and Western Sahara. Mr. Pelletreau recently declared about the referendum, that "there is a limit to the patience of the international community. We would like the process would be faster".
